The private estate, woodlands, gardens and river Deveron are wonderful for walks with several tracks to explore around the estate . You can expect to see deer, Highland Cattle, red squirrels and perhaps a badger or fox . Look above you and you may see buzzards, sparrow hawks, osprey, herons and many others during your stay. The woodlands have many ancient trees – Douglas firs and Elms as well as beautiful rhodendron bushes which add lots of colour in the early summer .Learn More

What can we explore in the estate?
As a guest at Forglen there are lots of walking tracks through the extensive woodlands and along the River Deveron for you to enjoy . You can also explore the magnificent Glen Garden walk and guests in our holiday cottages will also be given access to our private walled garden for the duration of their stay . We just ask that you follow the outdoor access code , keep dogs at heel or on a leash near wildlife or stock and respect those areas marked private .
What's around the estate?
The estate is only a mile outside the bustling agricultural town of Turriff . Turriff has been recognised as one of the UK and Scotland’s most vibrant High Streets with family butchers , bakers , ironmongery , boutiques , a Department store , gift shops as well as several cafes and restaurants providing both eat in and takeaway options . There is a swimming pool and a large public park , the Haughs with a popular children’s playpark , The Den, and a Boating Pond open during summer months .
Are we family friendly?
Our cottages from the 2 person Bothy to the 8 Person Smiddy , offer options for families of every size . The Garden Cottage with the Bothy just a minutes walk away offer the solution when you want to be on holiday with the family but not all in the same cottage ! We can provide high chairs and travel cots on request .
Can we bring our dog to your cottages ?
Yes, we allow a well behaved dog to join you in our cottages . However , we would ask that dogs are not allowed on the beds or sofas . Additional charges may be incurred if any damage occurs or if additional cleaning is required .
